11/27 clinic

I scheduled a family today and part of the family got sick, but everyone found a patient. I cleaned a five year old and it went well. He had a lot of plaque and some caclulus so I talked to him and his dad about brushing and flossing. Then I had a tissue evaluation. That was good but my patient didn't premed so I couldn't probe. Then we had a fun potluck for lunch. My afternoon patient was the nicest old lady and she was a class 5. She had a mandibular anterior bridge and those always kill me, but it was a good experience. Today is the last clinic day at Weber for the semester and I am excited for the break.

November 20th clinic

Today was interesting. My first patient was late but she ended up being a good mock board patient. I was going to clean the right side but she told me half way through the cleaning that she had to leave for work so I had to reschedule her for January. My second patient cancelled during the morning clinic but I found someone on campus who wanted to come in. I talked to them at 11:30 and they were excited to come in. Then they no showed and I spent the first hour trying to call them and then finding another patient. I guess third time is a charm because I found someone, they were a class V and I finished him. Also his wife is coming in next week so life is good.

11/13 clinic

Today was a good day. My first patient was my class 2 exam and it went great, I felt good about my technique and I didn't miss any spots. Then my afternoon patient was my class 3 exam, she was a nice lady and her calculus was pretty soft and I didn't miss any spots. It was nice not to miss any spots but I kind of wish she was a little harder just for the experience. I have had some hard class threes at the VA so that is good. I feel good about today and a little more confident in myself.
