4/25/07

Today I went to the VA in SLC. I got there and the cop yelled at me for parking in the wrong parking lot. I finally got up there and I cleaned a class 3 and class 5 patient. I really liked the VA and the extra instruction I got.

4/23/07

Today my goal was to finish my class 2 patient and maybe find a class 3 patient. My patient took a lot of work and by the end I was tired and didn't want to stay for the afternoon. Angie convinced me that I should stay and my patient ended up being a class 4. That is scary and I am doing all four quads on Thursday. Instructor Skeen had me do debridement on all 4 quads which I thought was really strange because I thought that we didn't do that. There was a ton of claculus.

4/18/07 clinic

Today I was suppose to clean one quad of a class 3 patient that is going to be a board patient. The patient no showed and so I spent the first hour and a half looking for a patient. I found a patient but they didn't get get here until 1:50 and so I didn't get him all cleaned. I also had another pt that I saw earlier call and want another appointment to get finished and so I think that I need to get another clinic day or find someone to finish her. She was hard to work on because she was impatient and not very nice. I really need my class 3 and I am stressing out any way because my wisdom tooth is starting to hurt and I am trying to plan a wedding.

4/16/07 clinic

Today I was suppose to finish my class two patient from last wednesday but they canceled. There was another pt outside and they said I could see her. She turned out to be a class 2 and so I did my exam on her. I finished her cleaning and for the first time I understand how to use the ultrasonic because lshe had a lot of stain that I removed with the ultrasonic. Today was one of those really good days that makes me feel like I can go on.

4/9/07 Clinic

Today my goal was to get two 1A patients done and a sealant. My patients were half an hour late, but I got them both done. I wish I could have gotten some PEs done. I still feel like I am never going to get done with all my requirements. I am excited for summer because I don't have to stress about school.

4/4/07

Today my goal was to get one quad of my patient done and hope that they were a class 2. Taking x-rays took a really long time today and I had to retake 2 of them. I definitely like horizontal bitewings better than vertical. I only got through the OD today but my patient was a class 2 so that was exciting. I am really nervous about finishing my requirements with the amount of appointments I have. Also having patients that speak spanish is really hard because explaining things is really hard and takes twice as long and so that makes it really hard to finish a patient.
